First CHF50 banknotes start circulating yesterday
The day has finally arrived! The first banknote of the ninth series of Swiss Francs started circulating yesterday.
The Swiss National Bank teased us last week with images and details of the new CHF50 banknote, but until today we could not actually touch one. As soon as the bank branches opened this morning, people were queuing up to get hold of the new notes.
There is little question that the notes break new ground in terms of security and design: Swiss banknotes are firmly at the cutting edge of banknote technology.
