Cambodian 15,000 Riel

Landqart is honoured to have collaborated with the Banknote Factory of the National Bank of Cambodia in the preparation of the 15,000 Riel banknote that was issued on the 29th of October, 2019.

The note was put into circulation by the National Bank of Cambodia to mark the 15th anniversary of the coronation of His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, the King of Cambodia, and symbolising the importance of the King, as the focal point of the whole Royal Household, for the reborn unity of the Cambodian people, recently emerged after decades of civil war and unrest.

The design of the banknote was carried out entirely by the talented team at the Banknote Printing Works of the National Bank of Cambodia, a major technological milestone for the Cambodian banknote industry. In keeping with the importance and sophistication of the note, it is printed on Landqart’s Durasafe® substrate – featuring a 4mm-wide security thread that can be viewed in the half windows, an ornamentally shaped see-through window adorned with an inkless intaglio-embossed floral pattern, and, in another world first a TRILUMIC® holographic foil, which, like the security thread, was supplied by Hueck Folien.
